It's interesting that Trump won with about 2 million less votes than losers Romney and McCain got in their elections.

Election Post-Mortem
by Simon ini'm sure many people, republicans included, are shocked at the results of the 2016 presidential election.
really, wtf!.
the polls were wrong and although it's tempting to blame voter suppression and fbi interference, that would just avoid looking at the real issues for the loss.

For someone professing to revere honesty, it seems Losch is well acquainted with "theocratic war strategy."

Imperfect Spiritual Food
by berrygerry inthe feb 2017 wt is being reviewed here because of the "neither inspired nor infallible" potential of the gb.. https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/6237447308443648/major-doctrinal-changes-must-on-way.
this indeed has been stated in the past.. an equally interesting phrase in that paragraph is: "of course, jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food.".
again, wt is using the "jesus never said" line.. what would make more sense is: "jesus never said that the food would be imperfect or harmless.".

Hmmm.... it seems like they've gone on record with some sort of preemptive disclaimer.

Well, I thought they were funny.
by Ultimate Axiom inlike many others, our local church produces a newsletter.
church car park sign... “for members only.
trespassers will be baptised”.. a sunday school teacher asked, “johnny, do you think noah did a lot of fishing when he was in the ark?” “no,” replied johnny, “how could he, with just two worms?”.

J W Survey Article : Upcoming Assembly Encourages J W Youth to Lie About Homosexuality
by BluesBrother in..........however, it seems that this practice [theocratic warfare] is seeping more and more into regular witness life.
in fact, one speech outline for the upcoming 2017 circuit assembly appears to directly encourage witnesses to lie to the general public about watchtower’s teachings on homosexuality............. http://jwsurvey.org/mind-control/upcoming-2017-jw-assembly-encourages-witness-youths-to-lie-about-homosexuality.
nb this is a month old.. if it has been previously posted and i missed it, sorry .

Their current teaching is: “You can be gay, as long as you do not practice it.”
I don't believe that to be the case. They have said it isn't enough to suppress homosexual behavior, citing "That is what some of you WERE" (1 Cor. 6:11)

"Don't you want our kids to have what we had?"
by schnell inmy wife just asked me this.
my answer, in no uncertain terms, is no.
we both grew up in the dub religion.

Schnell,
It may comfort you to know there are quite a few nominal JWs such as you and your wife: raised by relatively liberal parents with strong family ties, but who on a personal level have come to terms with the restrictive lifestyle of the organization. They view themselves as fundamentally loyal but rather "balanced" in their worldview.

Why are JWs so sensitive to criticism?
by Half banana ini remember a roman catholic priest acknowledging on the bbc that the outrageously anti-clerical tv comedy father ted was a humorous mocking of his church but an acceptable thing.. try mocking the jw religion to a believer and the result is so very different.. just why is it that jehovah's witnesses can never take even the faintest hint of criticism of their religion?.
-
Room 215
Simple. It's because of their insecurity... on a certain level, they're quite aware of the indefensibility of their beliefs, most of which can't hold up against even the most cursory scrutiny.

JW's and the forgotten Jesus
by LevelThePlayingField inso as i have been waking up more and more over the past 3 years...i keep telling myself i'm fully awake and then i wake up more, but that's a different thread.
but anyway, i've noticed a lot lately that the wt does not mention jesus or christ very much in their literature and neither to jw's in their conversations.
they mainly talk about jehovah.

The JW religion is essentially neo-Judaism in character.

so let me get this straight.. the borg moves into their new corporate country club....
by nowwhat? inwith their luxurious lakeside condos.
takes all the congregations funds promising new kingdom halls.
but instead starts selling off kingdom halls ..then makes faithful old brothers and sisters drive 20-30 miles to another one, and .kicks out half the bethelites for only only tech savy college educated ones.can barely afford to send out printed publications anymore.

Vomit-inducing, both for the magnitude of the properties themselves, also for the uncritical support/defense of them by the adoring masses and the volunteer labor lavished so senselessly on these vulgar, garish wanna-be Vaticans.
